2 Dangerous Churches

My goal in life is not to preach sermons. I hope we will be more eager to become more like Christ than accumulating head knowledge. Let these expositions come as revelation; this is why you need to see Jesus for yourselves. I liken two churches as wood and clay, cheap and tawdry. I fear that millions of people in Africa are not aware of this truth. I sincerely pray for them, I do not condemn them at all. There are two churches I'm afraid of attending: A worldly church and a church that emphasizes going to heaven. The second church surprises you right? Because it sounds like a very good church. Let's talk about a worldly church for a moment.

A worldly church has great music, fine architecture, financial power, but there is no true devotion to Christ. In this type of church people are not drawn to Christ but to men. In this type of church, the goal is not to become like Christ but to enjoy the pleasures of this life. A worldly church does not teach the full counsel of God, but it builds most of it's doctrines and faith from the shadows of good things; Old Covenant. A worldly church glories in what they have accomplished, but a true church glories in what Christ has done. A worldly church makes it look like they are humble, but in real life they are proud of their buildings, money, music etc. I believe a lot of radical disciples in such church can lose their salvation. 

The second church is a church that focuses on going to heaven. I don't think anybody wants to miss heaven, ask the devil. But, the danger with this type of church is that, people are not serious about overcoming sin, they just want to enter heaven. The thief on the cross for an example. He never overcame one sin in his life, he didn't even attend any church, but he went from cross to heaven. This is not a dangerous church in the sense that it is sinful, but it is dangerous for a disciple that wants to be like Christ. It's not always so though, I believe some of these local churches have elders who teach their members about the narrow way.

The thief on the cross was never like Christ, he was still himself; selfish, lascivious, proud etc. Compared to a worldly church, the heaven crazy church is better, but the best church is the one that wants to become like Christ here on earth. That is the type of church than can be a true witness of Jesus on earth. 

*And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. 1 John 4:17 NLT*

It's very good to be heavenly conscious, but the goal is not to run off to heaven, the goal is to win Christ. If you become like Christ heaven will be a bonus. The truth is, anywhere Christ will be, even if He relocates to hell, for those who love Him it will be heaven. A worldly church will never emphasize becoming like Christ in overcoming sin, taking up the cross and dying to self, but it will emphasize all the stupid things that the world seeks after. A worldly church doesn't look too different from the world, you will hardly see any contrast. Now I'm not asking you to change your church, but you can start praying for your elders and pastors. You can even fix a meeting with your pastor to ask him questions and tell him about the truths you have discovered. Only when these doesn't work you can find a new church where you will be challenged to be like Christ.

*Dear Lord. We pray for the churches in Africa. We ask you to breathe your truth in every worldly church. We are free from judging, therefore we do not judge but intercede. Let your mercy and light go forth and revive these churches in Jesus name, Amen!*

How God spoke to me about a teenager

More often we find the Christian crusade a religion, and people don't get to experience the real spiritual parade. A believer would spend five hours praying, assuming more time on his knees would cause God to talk. But I find religion to be the problem of relationship with God.
