Walk In Love: This message will comfort you. It will ignite a desire for God in you.

*He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.  He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.  But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes. 1 John 2:9‭-‬11 KJV*

How often have we professed to love God and yet hate the very things God loves? Think about the phrase for a moment "Walk in Love." It's as if I said "Walk in water, or walk in fire." Can you walk in fire and not burn? Or can you walk in water and not drown? Can you walk in God and not love? It's impossible! I want to talk about the cross for a moment. We cannot talk about love until we talk about Jesus. At the time when we all deserved hell, because we had broken all the laws of God and God demanded justice. God demonstrated His love towards us, while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. Nothing in me gave God a reason to save. This is love!

You cannot walk in love if you have not been broken by the finished work of love demonstrated on the cross. We are not producing love, we are walking into someone else's love and reflecting it to others. Yet if we must love, then we must also hate. I will give you an example that Paul Washer uses most often. I love children therefore I must hate abortion. If we love God we must hate sin. So walking into love is not actually been nice to everyone, fixing people's bootstraps or helping someone with groceries. A lot of nice people will still go to hell, because been nice is not salvation. We must cling to the cross of Christ through saving faith in His power.

*My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:  And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. 1 John 2:1‭-‬2 KJV*

This morning I read first John 2, and verse one got my eyes really big. I began to meditate on it, and I produced this question "How much sin do I have to commit for God to be unable to forgive me?" Remember He is the propitiation for the sins of the whole world, we are talking about 7.2 billion people with zillions of sins. Can you see the infinite price of the cross? Can you see love demonstrated in its full power? We ought to walk in sacrificial love. And the Bible says we cannot claim to love God and hate our brother. This is why I don't judge people by how much tongue they speak, how long they pray, how well they preach, but how much they love God and people. Is there any burning desire in your heart to love God and serve people? If not, as much as you try to pretend, you are not saved.

Some people preach love on a dangerous extreme. They say "Well God loves you, no matter how much you sin God loves you." This type of teaching is so dangerous it has led many sincere people astray from the faith. If you know God as love then you must know Him as hate. If you know God as slow to anger, you have to know Him as quick in mercy. Don't take God to one extreme of your choice to suit your evil. God is not like anything, He is like no one. You can't fit Him into anything other than what He is. Walk in love brothers and sisters, and strive to obey God's commandments. Let's pray

*Father. We walk on dangerous ground if we claim to love you and walk not in love with men. If we do not have a strong desire to know you and serve men. Ignite this thirst in our hearts Lord. Give us grace to walk like Jesus, Amen!*
